About Forgehorizones

We are a Tamale-based financial capability provider dedicated to helping Ghanaian households, traders, and professionals adopt disciplined savings, investment literacy, and long-term planning habits.

Our Origin Story

Forgehorizones emerged in 2023 after listening to the financial pain points of local cooperatives and early-career professionals who wanted practical guidance grounded in Ghana’s realities.

A Response to Local Needs

The founders met while piloting budgeting clinics for market traders. They discovered that participants needed structured follow-through beyond single workshops. Forgehorizones was born to combine ongoing guidance with robust data tracking.

We assembled a small network of facilitators experienced in adult learning, community development, and regulated financial services.

Rooted in Northern Ghana

Operating from Tamale allows us to serve both urban professionals and rural entrepreneurs. Regular field visits ensure our tools and examples reflect agriculture cycles, cooperative dynamics, and the realities of fluctuating incomes.

We maintain an accessible office on Jubilee Road where participants collect materials, schedule clinics, and access printed resources.

Methodology Anchored in Practical Learning

Our methodology emphasises clarity, repetition, and accountability. Each cohort navigates the same step-based structure, supported by measurable milestones.

Contextual Diagnostics

We start each programme with a detailed diagnostic covering income sources, seasonal variability, household obligations, and existing financial tools. The baseline informs how we sequence training modules.

Scenario-Based Practice

Participants apply concepts to real scenarios such as paying school fees, expanding inventory, or financing farm inputs. Each scenario includes risk analysis and mitigation strategies.

Accountability Framework

We pair learners with peer accountability partners and provide weekly checklists. Facilitators review progress, adjust targets, and ensure lessons become daily habits.

Data and Insights

We maintain a live insight dashboard tracking knowledge, behaviour, and resilience metrics across cohorts, ensuring our work remains evidence-based.

  • Baseline and endline assessments measure knowledge gains across savings, investment products, and planning tools.
  • Quarterly surveys monitor debt-to-income ratios, emergency fund growth, and investing activity.
  • We collaborate with Ghanaian financial institutions to validate financial product choices for participants.
  • Data is stored securely using encrypted systems protected by Cloudflare-managed firewalls and access controls.

Expanding Regional Footprint

Our next steps include establishing facilitation hubs in Kumasi and Takoradi, supported by local partners who understand specific regional economies.

Digital Enhancements

We are developing a suite of low-data digital tools for rural participants, ensuring content remains accessible even in areas with limited internet connectivity.
